What is your opinion about Double Jeopardy?

It has been bothering me for quite some time. How is it possible that a person who is guilty of say murder, and have been acquited then at a later stage be found guilty but cannot be tried again. The Bible is very clear on this in that it say "The wages of Sin is Death" So, the Lord will forgive the sinner, He loves the sinner but hates the sin. For what happened with the consequance? If this person is then free what happened with his concious and where does he then pay for his wrong? I want to know WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CONSEQUANCE AND DO YOU THINK THAT THE LORD WILL FOGIVE SUCH A PERSON IF THERE IS STILL PUNISHMENT OUTSTANDING.ACCIRDUBG TO THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS FOR SUCH A PERSON UNLESS HE GOES BACK AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HE IS GUILTY AND SEEK PUNISHMENT, THEN THE LORD CAN FORGIVE HIM FOR HE HAS THEN BEEN PUNISHED HERE ON EARTH AND THERE WILL BE NO MORE PUNISHMENT (HELL) FOR SUCH A PERSON. PLEASE HELP FOR I NEED TO KNOW THE FACTS AND NOT MERELY OPINIONS.
