What role, if any, does the devil play in the the intelligent design discussion?

i mean uming from a scientific standpoint that we were all designed by an intelligent agent, how do i.d. proponents explain genetic mutations? have they worked the whole "original sin" thing into their elaborate disguise of creationism? like maybe the devil was another designer who wanted to design life too. but god, i mean the intelligent designer didn't want him stealing his thunder, so he fired the devil. and so like maybe the devil got mad at the intelligent designer and decided to sabotage his work.
