Should I send this person flowers even though I don't know his/her gender?

So I live a little far from the town centre (where I have to be in every day). I lost my bus p recently; and I was worrying about it as it costed me 80 quid. So now, today, someone from the bus company has found it and sent it back! Now I'm so happy I want to load this person with something cly like flowers and cadbury! Do you think this would seem odd for such a show of gratitude? Even if all I got was 'P. Gillam' on the back of the envelope?
