I'm having trouble finding a Co-Dec for WMP. Please help?

I'm on a 32-bit HP Intel computer and I am looking for a solution to a predicament I am in. See, I downloaded (legally) an episode of my favorite TV show and when I attempt to open the file on Windows Media Player, it says I am missing a codec. I have tried looking for one to download but they are all for 64-bit computers.
